Soft as Petals, Steady as Pines
About Petals and Pines Planning
Some names are chosen. Ours was found — in the wildflowers that spill across Wyoming's high plains every summer, and the pines that stand watch over them through every season that follows. Petals and Pines Planning was born from that same pairing: something soft and something enduring, something delicate and something rooted. That's the feeling we want every couple to walk away with — a day that felt tender and beautiful, built on something solid enough to hold it all.
We believe a wedding should never feel like it was pulled from a template or borrowed from somewhere else. It should feel like you — your story, your people, your particular kind of love — set against a backdrop nothing else in the world can offer. We bring thirty years of event and hospitality artistry to that belief, twenty-five of them spent right here in Sheridan, Wyoming, learning this land and this community from the inside out.
Wyoming does not offer itself up easily. Her beauty is enormous and her moods are honest — the same afternoon can hold golden light, wind off the mountains, and a sky that turns without warning. We don't fight against that. We've spent decades learning to move with it, to read it, and — more than anything — to fall completely in love with it. That love is not a talking point for us. It's the quiet thing underneath everything we do.
Because we know her so well, we don't have to plan around Wyoming's wildness — we get to plan with it. The way alpenglow settles on the mountains just before your ceremony begins. The hush that falls over a meadow at dusk. The way string lights look strung between old timber under a sky full of more stars than most people have ever seen at once. These aren't backdrops to us. They're materials — as much a part of your design as your florals or your gown — and we know exactly how to use them to make your day feel larger than any ballroom ever could.
That same devotion extends to every hand we've shaken and every relationship we've built along the way — the florists, the caterers, the musicians, the venues tucked down dirt roads that most planners will never find. Twenty-five years in this community means we don't just have contacts. We have trust, history, and friendships that show up for your day exactly when they're needed.
The result is a wedding that is entirely, unmistakably yours — planned with the polish and precision of a career built across the country, and held, always, by the deep, unwavering love we carry for the place we call home.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Lauren Pelissier
Your Wedding — a day shaped around your people, your story, and the vision that lives only in your imagination until someone like Lauren and her team brings it to life and Lauren is an expert in creating experiences that will be remembered for a lifetime.
That's the gift Lauren brings to every couple she works with: the ability to truly listen, and the patience to keep listening until she understands not just what you want, but who you are together. She asks good questions. She remembers the small things you mentioned once in passing. She has a quiet way of making you feel like the only couple she's ever planned for, even after decades of doing this work.
Lauren has spent nearly thirty years in the events and hospitality world, in settings as different as cruise ships, hotels, and entertainment production, managing indoor and outdoor venues— and if there's one thing all of it taught her, it's that no plan succeeds without genuine collaboration. She doesn't believe in showing up with a rigid vision and asking couples, vendors, and venues to fall in line behind it. She believes the best days are built together — her experience and steady hand paired with your voice, your vendors' expertise, and your family's traditions, all working in the same direction.
She's called Sheridan, Wyoming a second home for twenty-five years now, carrying the Pelissier name in a community that has come to know and trust her. That history means something to her — not as a credential, but as a relationship. She understands this community, its people, and its unpredictable, breathtaking beauty because she has spent a quarter of a century showing up for it, learning from it, and falling more in love with it every season.
What Lauren brings to your wedding, more than anything, is herself — someone who will sit with you, listen closely, collaborate genuinely, and quietly make sure every person and every detail is working together in harmony, so that your day feels exactly, unmistakably like you.
